Main Features of the CR-10S PRO V2
- BLTouch Auto Leveling
- Upgraded Silent Motherboard
- 500W Meanwell Power Supply
- High-quality Extrusion Mechanism
- PTFE Tube
The CR-10S Pro V2 sports a much more sophisticated and put-together design than its predecessors, thanks to the implementation of the control box built-in to the design instead of to the side like the previous CR-10S.
The all-metal frame of the Pro V2 provides great structural integrity and ensures consistent quality control and has the mechanical tolerances to make it able to withstand the high demands of 3D printing.
As far as 3D printers go, this CR-10S Pro V2 model is not a giant compared to some of the industrial models out there, but considering this model will be most likely used to printing hobbyists it does come up quite large and may be difficult to permanently reside in a room without taking up tons of space.
Unboxing and assembling this printer is a breeze and will only take around 15 minutes as the tools and parts are all included to piece it together.
If this is your first time owning a 3D printer, then assembling and setting up your printer will take substantially longer. The instruction manual includes clear graphics to show you how to assemble it properly step by step.
The manual will also explain how to start bed leveling, setting up the software, and also starting to create your first print. Filament loading is typical of a model of this caliber and shouldn’t take you too long at all.
Meanwell Power Supply & Power Outage Detection
The printer is supported by the popular 500W Meanwell power supply to ensure your machine is up and ready for action in no time at all.
The power supply is both stable and powerful enough to provide sufficient power for even the largest and most intricate prints for a consistent finish throughout the finished product.
The machine also comes with an implemented power outage detection device which will automatically resume functioning from the place it left off after a power outage, thus preventing you from having to start all over again and have to throw away your half-finished print.
The Pro V2 printer is compatible with most of the popular host software including Simplify3D and Cura.
There are programs that have stock profiles for this device, but we’d recommend checking out Reddit or browsing online to find popular CR-10S profiles.
Simple Creality does recommend using their adapted version of Cura called ‘Creality Slicer’ with anyone of their CR-10 models.
You’ll be able to transfer your designs and profiles to the printer via SD or WiFi.
The Pro V2 has included improved filament tubing which then leads to a huge improvement of the printing functioning.
The Capricorn tubing is of a higher quality and is temperature resistant to deliver the filament smoothly and consistently.
The printer is compatible with PLA, ABS, PETG, and flexibles and can also support third-party filaments. You’ll be able to find a full list of compatible filaments in the manual guide.
Upgraded Silent Motherboard
The CR-10S Pro V2 features the same V2.4.1 motherboard as the previous models, which has guaranteed stability and performance but the difference in this model being the additional TMC2208 ultra-mute driver that reduces the operating noise of the printer by quite a degree.
BL Touch Auto-levelling
Unlike previous models from the CR-10 range, this 10S Pro V2 has no z-limit switch and instead has an adjustable contactless sensor.
You will have to manually level the plate yourself to start with which is normally done with a piece of paper.
However, after that, the CR-10S Pro V2 will automatically measure the height of 9 points on the heated bed to create a first-class print each time.
High-quality Extrusion Mechanism
The bondtech gear structure has double-high density gears and a big extrusion force for smooth bonding, this implemented with the z-axis double screw offers great synchronization and matches well to create smooth and accurate printing.
Digital HD Touch Screen
The large 3.4-inch touch screen is one of the standout features of the CR-10S PRO V2.
The vibrant display will allow you to browse quickly and easily through the different settings and features, even allowing you to change the temperatures to your preferred temperature instead of the presets.
The HD Touch Screen does support sound and you’ll hear a tone every time you press a button or setting.
You have the freedom to increase or lower the volume so you don’t hear this tone as much or you can even mute the sound altogether.
If you’re someone who likes to use more transparent materials and colors to make your ideas into a reality, then the CR-10S will benefit you.
With its sensitive sensor which will detect even the most transparent of materials, you won’t find your imagination limited by the constraints of the machine.
If you’re looking to really step up your 3D printing game then the 10S Pro V2 will allow you to put your ideas to work and create some masterpieces.
The machine has a large build volume measuring 300x300x400 giving you generous room to create some life-size prints.
We attempted the various typical evaluation prints of the 10S Pro V2 and were pretty impressed with the quality, texture, and shaping of all our trial prints.
There were some individual cases where the prints came out slightly deformed or with loose strings unattached, but we have put this down to the speed of the printer and also the temperature being too high.
The first print
The first print that we attempted on the Pro V2 came out more than satisfactory and had a good surface finish, with the only blemishes on the print being where you can see where each new layer starts.

What Customers Say About The Simple Creality CR-10S Pro V2
One customer who noted that he was a complete beginner to 3D printing explained that he’d done thorough research prior to committing to the purchase of a CR-10S Pro V2 but was more than happy with his printer that he received and has not stopped printing profiles since it had arrived.
He comments upon the fact that the printer does not need any modifications or upgrades to work effectively and found it particularly easy to use just how it comes.
However, another customer, who made note of their experience of 3D printing, discusses how the price is not justified as you’ll have to upgrade and pay extra for a higher quality printing bed as the one they received was warped.
The customer does not explain if they went through customer service to solve their issue of the warped bed, so we’re not sure if it was resolved.
We’ve come across many customers who’ve encountered minor to major issues with the Pro V2 model, most of which were met with replacements, refunds, or immediate repairs by the brand.
There is also a high level of responses about the quality of customer care concerning troubleshooting any problems with the machine. Most customers had a response from the customer service team within 24 hours of reaching out to them, which is unheard of nowadays.
The overall response from customers seems to be generally more than satisfied with the quality of the printer and the customer service received as well.
High-tech products like 3D printers which require a lot of fiddling and basic knowledge are prone to breaking and troubleshooting as some users do not use them correctly.
However, it’s good to know that Comgrow understands all the issues that occur and seek to resolve them as soon as possible.
Overall, Simple Creality has definitely executed the Pro V2 to a high standard and the upgraded and additional features make it much more convenient to print such high-quality prints.
If you’re not looking to span your budget to the thousands, then this Pro V2 will certainly exceed all expectations for a printer of this caliber.
Whilst the improved bed plate is beneficial in terms of adhesion and providing a better structural base of prints, it does prove difficult to remove from the bed when functioning is complete and may require some flat head tools to pull it off the surface.
Worth Buying or Not?
When you consider the features implemented into the Pro V2 model, you’d expect it to be at a much higher price point, especially when you compare this quality model with others from competitors.
It produces high-quality consistent prints and has upgraded features to improve printing functioning but still at a fraction of the price of others on the market.
If our collective thoughts on the 10S Pro V2 model have ticked all the boxes of your requirements for a new 3D printer, then it’ll prove a worthy addition for you and will deliver quality prints with the added convenience of the upgraded features.
If you’re a complete amateur in 3D printing, this model may be too advanced for your knowledge and skills as of right now.
Until you’ve learned the basics and general idea of 3D printing, the price of the V2 cannot be justified as you won’t make good use out of it until you’ve mastered basic models of printers.
