Additive manufacturing to be featured at UK laser event
The Association of Laser Users recently announced it will hold its biannual Industrial Laser Application Symposium at Birchwood Park in Warrington, UK, where it will feature an array of technology, including solar cell production, surface modification and additive manufacturing.
The two-day event will be held March 15 and 16. The AILU invites members of the UK laser community to participate in technical presentations and learn about new developments in the laser technology industry.
According to the AILU, the 2011 event will feature 55 technical presentations in seven processing areas, as well as several keynote and plenary presentations about laser equipment, materials and applications, such as selective laser sintering, beam shaping and micro joining.
Established in 1995, the AILU is a nonprofit organizations that aims to explore the applications of laser technology across a number of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, academic and industrial research.
This is the second time the AILU has hosted the Industrial Laser Applications Symposium. The previous event took place in 2009 and was attended by more than 110 delegates, the organizations claims.
